How much practise you know about hummingbirds? Hither are a few facts that might surprise you near this amazing little bird.

Hummingbirds are the smallest migrating bird except they don't migrate in flocks like other species. Some even travel solitary for upwards to 500 miles at a time.
Hummingbirds are the only birds that can wing backwards.
The proper name, hummingbird, comes from the humming dissonance their wings make as they beat so fast.
Hummingbirds have no sense of smell. While they tin can't sniff out feeders, they do accept proficient color vision.

As for drawing a hummingbird, this one is pretty easy as the torso wings and tail are all kept to pretty elementary shapes. The fun comes when it's fourth dimension to color in the neck and beautiful shiny outer coat.

If y'all think you need extra fancy supplies to brand some very bright hummingbird colors, gauge again. Yous can always but use crayons to color (like a dark greenish over a light green) to add some extra visual TEXTURE, (one of the Elements of Art!). It's subtle, but definitely there as the crayons will never totally mix like oil pastels. Y'all can even add together some red color over the pink to make the bloom look extra vibrant.

Materials to Depict a Hummingbird

Eraser. Big ones you lot tin concord in your paw do a much better chore than but the pencil tips.

Blackness Sharpie Mark. These fine point permanent marker pens brand nice black outlines, have a good tip for coloring, and never bleed when they get wet. Use them with practiced ventilation and add actress paper underneath to protect your tables.

Prang Crayons. These are a bit softer than other crayons so they sometimes look like oil pastels. They also have a some squeamish brown shades that Crayola does not have unless you buy their larger boxes.

Crayola Crayons. The reliable brand that always works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and xanthous colors that seem a bit richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.
