Using Khan Academy to Study for Standardized Tests

If you are due to take the SAT, AP Calculus or some other test, Khan Academy makes for a great source of practice material. Khan Academy's test prep covers virtually all the topics in the standardized test, and includes numerous questions that build up your problem-solving skills. You can use test prep materials for the following tests:

  • SAT
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Statistics
  • GMAT
  • LSAT
  • MCAT

In this way, not only are you likely to improve your performance in standardized testing, but this type of test prep is cheaper than common alternatives. Hiring a GMAT math tutor, for example, can cost around $90/hr, whereas using Khan Academy to prepare for the test is free.

How to Use Khan Academy for Group Study

Learning on your own is good, but you can increase the level of challenge by working with others from your class or friends. There are multiple ways you can use Khan Academy as part of your group study. For example, you can all follow along the lessons and work problems together in group study sessions. Alternatively, you can challenge each other to work through the problems in a course and complete sections the fastest. You may also set challenges for accuracy, so that the student with the highest marks in a section gets to win that section.
